Cambridge is our central focus, but we branch out in this metropolitan area. The Cambridge and Boston rental market has always been competitive.
We inhabit an interesting historic and intellectually dynamic metropolis, drawing students and researchers of all levels from the four corners of the earth. This educated, cultured city has its charm. In terms of its housing stock, historic brownstones,
wood multi-family structures, as well as modern condo complexes are a typical mix for the cities and towns close to our Charles River.
Much of the older housing stock has been renovated since 1995, and the speed at which property changes hands has been phenomenal. For those who rent,
we often have to warn "if you see a place you like, be prepared to take it." Here brokers used to receive one month's rent for their efforts, in past years paid by the tenants, but currently often sharing this cost 50-50 with the landlord.
